This is what Clifton Blvd looks like. It is a wide, residential avenue with stately trees, century homes & apartment buildings. It leads into the suburbs of Lakewood and Rocky River (then it becomes Lake Avenue). Before a highway system was in place, it was the main route (as Rte 2 & Rte 6) to the Islands, Sandusky & Cedar Point, very popular resort/vacation areas. The drive is very scenic. You will see Lake Erie to your right practically the whole drive to Toledo & Detroit, Michigan. It is part of a scenic bike route around the lake and into Canada. All along the way, there are beautiful homes and properties overlooking bluffs and beaches. You will also pass Huntingtom Park, a popular & historic swimming area with famous live theatre. |
